"It is very difficult to engage with young people when they are stereotyped by the media in a negative way. It is even more difficult getting them to participate in something during a period when they could be hanging out with their mates or doing something they're used to.

This is why, It was inspiring to see the younger participants just how motivated they were by their own enthusiasm. Having spoken to them before, during and after the workshops I can say that the project definitely stirred a desire within them to learn more about areas of the film making process that had they not attended the workshops probably would not have found. This includes venturing into higher education.................

With the current "yob culture" being portrayed by the media stereotyping the majority of young people in a negative way, it is ironic that the same tool was used to ignite the flame of passion amongst our young residents in a way that could not have been a more positive."

"my experience at the workshop is so talented that i became the star of the show. i realy enjoyed working with the crew members like Greg, Hassan and Patric i enjoyed working with them they are so helpful. the best thing i enjoyed about making a film was i used different type of equipment that i have never used before in my life, the realy intresting part was when i was getting to know everyone and what type of minds they have. the workshop was so good that i would definetly love to do this again. i chose to go to the workshop because it can help me in the future by being a producer or a director or even a actor. hopefully we do it again and this time it would love it to be more longer i mean the film limit."

"One of the most enjoyable projects i have been a part of. It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves and working together to achieve their goal. My favorite part of the week has to be the drama exercises... really fun and engaging. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the screening."

"it was a rely good experience because we got to use all sorts of new things. But the Stedi cam was the best one i have to say. All together the whole thing was a blast. The main best people were Greg, Patrick and Hassan fanks to you three we got to do this."

"A truly valuable and fun experience. I wish when I was younger I had this opportunity to learn about film and how to go about making a film and mingle with a diverse group, not a lot of people get that opportunity."

Hassan Alsekafi

"First-cut was a great experience, the teenagers was refreshing and I was impress to see how creative, enthusiast and involve they were. We had a great opportunity to fallow a project from the beginning to the end, to use good equipments that even university can not provide for us, and take part in many different domains. The dynamic was quite interesting as we were people from all different background: culturally, age, financially but we all interacted for the same purposes.

But most of all the coordinators and students were very nice people to be around and to work with.
It was very good workshop for the community, as it gave the opportunity for the young residents to get involve in something constructive, creative and where they could influence the way the project was evolving.

I definitively recommend it to people who are interested in culture and film industry to participate to it.

Hopefully if there is a next time they will take me on board again."
